Back home, new home

We're sweating for you, but we're loving every moment!

Hey everyone! I just got back to Siem Reap a few days ago, and I’m finally diving into the work to transform the space that will soon become Amara Beer Lab. There’s a lot to do, but the journey has started, and we’re aiming to open by March.

Right now, I’m all about tackling the garden, clearing out old junk, setting up better lighting, and figuring out how to make the most of the space inside and outside. On top of that, I’m also fixing up my new home upstairs. The past couple of nights, I’ve even been sleeping without a mattress, and the house was pretty messy when I got here. Honestly, there have been moments where I’ve felt completely overwhelmed.

That said, I’m taking on this challenge one small step at a time. I’m making sure to take breaks and head out for walks in the countryside with my dog. These outings are not only a great way to recharge but also an awesome chance to meet the neighbors and share a bit about my project with the local community. It’s a fantastic way to connect with locals and spread the word about Amara Beer Lab.

Doing everything myself at this stage is a deliberate choice: it’s a great way to organize my thoughts, get hands-on with the project, test my skills, and give the place a personal touch. It’s sweaty, intense work, but also incredibly rewarding. Soon, I’ll have a team to back me up, but for now, it’s just me, rolling up my sleeves and making it happen.

I’ll be sharing some photos soon to give you a sneak peek at how things are shaping up.
