At Amara Beer Lab, we believe that small acts of kindness can have a profound impact. That’s why we’ve committed to giving away surplus food and clothing to those in need. Any food left over from our taproom operations will be personally delivered to families or individuals who could use a hearty meal. This not only minimizes waste but also reinforces our belief in the power of community. We stand by what we do, because it reflects who we are.

A Tradition of Sharing

This mindset isn’t new to us. Even before adopting a mainly plant-based lifestyle, I practiced this principle during my fishing days. I used to participate in mackerel competitions, often returning home with a fridge stocked full of fresh fish—sometimes as many as 300 mackerels from a single event. On my way home, I’d stop by and share the catch with people I knew would appreciate fresh fish but might not have the means to afford it regularly.

Good habits like these don’t change; they just evolve. The settings and circumstances may differ, but the core value of helping others and respecting the environment remains constant. Guided by this same principle, I’ve always believed that even used clothing retains its dignity—it’s simply a container of potential. Periodically, I collect my own garments (admittedly few) that I no longer wear and pass them on to those who can benefit from them.

Join the Movement: Trade Clothes for a Pint and Make a Difference

Now, we want to extend this philosophy to our customers. For every kilogram of clean, gently used clothing you bring in, we’ll thank you with a free pint of beer. It’s a small gesture to encourage a habit that’s good for others, good for the planet, and good for the soul. At Amara Beer Lab, we’re committed to creating a culture of giving—because making a difference is always worth it.
